George's Music Center receives "Best Music Store" In CT by Connecticut Magazine. This is a true honor. George's Music Center was established in 1998 by Torrington native George Donovan Jr. George came back to Torrington after graduating from UCONN with a degree in Marketing and Economics. This combined with (at that time) more than a decade of playing guitar in many CT based bands and being a study of vintage instruments and the love of business opened a modest store in the downtown area. In 2005 George moved his store to a 4100 square foot store on RT. 4 in Torrington. This new facility has a 2300 square foot showroom, inventoried with the latest gear for all levels of musicians. The rest of the square footage is divided between a beautiful teaching facility and a well stocked warehouse. In 2013 George's Music Center launched a ECommerce website to expand sales to the whole country. The website is a great representation of George's inventory. Although George's Music Center displays all products on the website, the "Guitar Stash" is where most of the on-line action is!! The Guitar Stash is the home of some of the best boutique guitars, basses and amplifiers in the industry. The bottom line, George's Music Center is a community based business, servicing many local Schools, Churches and Musicians.
